Oh man, that would be such an epic ending. I can imagine the creators would go into hiding for a long, long while after that!

At this point, all I can hope for is that she's got a major surgery or medical procedure coming up and they don't know if she'll make it; but in the end reveal they show that she's indeed alive.

    **HIMYM SPOILERS**

I'm midway through Season 8 of HIMYM (stopped watching for the last couple of years). Tried scrolling past the spoilers above and yet managed to catch the words "mother dying". Going to be interesting for me watching the rest with that knowledge. At least there's the consolation that I don't know if you guys are discussing something that's happened or just conjecture.

Broskis, I've really enjoyed True Detective. Is Twin Peaks worth watching?

Yeah, it's great - wish McConaghey would either speak up or take that fag out of his mouth.

A couple of very funny True Detective parody videos:

    Yellow King Theory

    Can anyone understand True Detective?

    ***True Detective Spoilers***

I thought True Detective had a satisfactory ending. There were a lot of fan theories about The Yellow King or a large conspiracy, but the show wasn't really interested in delving into that. In the end, it remained focused on the character study of its two leads. I read an interview of the show's creator and he said it would've felt like a cliché if one or both of the leads had died. He also reiterated Marty's line that in this world, you don't get to solve all the problems and should be happy with solving the ones you did. Overall, what an incredible season and I can't wait for the next chapter.

Great ending. It wasn't about the serial killings at all, but about these guys as we had all suspected. Just like The Wire wasn't about cops and Breaking Bad wasn't about cooking meth. Did not expect such a 'happy' ending. At all. But it worked. NIc Pizzolatto had said in the interview that he didn't just want to display darkness but about how people can start coming back from it. And I think it showed that. I am very satisfied with it. I agree with Fusion, it doesn't have to be dark for the sake of it and in many ways it would have been much more cliche (considering thats what everyone was expecting). But to flip things on their head a little bit while still having the story flow and make sense, while still tonally being faithful to what came before, is a great thing. I am not comparing this to breaking bad but IMO this is why TV can be so much better than movies - this "transformation" (as in Breaking Bad) would have not really mattered as much unless we spent the amount of time we did. So when people do change, you can feel the true weight.

True Detective s01 might just be the greatest TV show season I've ever seen. It finished exactly as it should have too IMO.

Agreed, great ending to a great series. Not sure if I missed it, did they explain what Carcosa referred to?

Went to rewatch episode 7 and read the summary, about to watch the final episode soon. It's a bit hard to follow if you don't think, which I'm accustomed to when watching shows.

Reckon she's already in the pot TBH. I never liked Tasha Yar.

***How I Met Your Mother Series Finale Spoilers***

Well, to me that was the absolute worst way they could’ve ended the show. I can’t think of a recent series finale that was such a downer. The viewer invested in the strong family bond these characters formed and the concept of the titular character finding his soul mate. Only the group drifted apart for several years and the Mother died young. Joy. Not to mention, we circled back to the whole Ted & Robin thing – and erase whatever investment we had made into Barney & Robin. Blah.
