    From the article sledger posted:

The Breaking Bad episode indicates just how smart Gilligan & Co. are about knowing how much they can needle at Walter White’s morality, then pushing him exactly that far so the audience realizes the full weight of everything the man has done. The show works because of its great acting and fantastic plotting, sure, but it’s also successful precisely because it has a very clear view of its main character.
This! I can't believe I wasted so much time catching up on the last 4 seasons of Dexter. They had no idea what the **** they were doing with such potentially great story archs. I hope someone someday does a remake of Dexter s4 on.

Yeah, had been thinking it for a while myself. At some point he just became a normal guy who happened to kill people occasionally. Went from being a total nutjob (albeit a cool and collected one) to a guy with loads of emotions, and then supposedly back to being a nutjob in the final season - or at least that is how the writers seemed to want to spin it. Terrible job. Like you say, so many promising story arcs that were just abandoned in favour of doing the same old ****.

Saw the first two actually and while they’re an improvement on the disaster that was season 2, they still haven’t given me hope that the show can reach the same level as its outstanding first season. Too much Dana, too much crazy in Carrie (been there, done that), and so far this season too little to care about in terms of plot and characters. I hope it improves.

Yeah agree with this. Carrie and Dana have added nothing to the first two episodes and there's been little plot development. Extremely slow start.

That was my take on the first episode (I haven't seen the 2nd one yet) but the reviews I read rated it as something of a return to form. Can't see it myself. Especially the time wasted on Dana, which isn't really what the show should be about. Hard to see where it can go after the apocalyptic ending to series 2.

It was rubbish. Half the episode on Dana and there's really not much else happening. I thought they'd have gotten tired of the crazy Carrie angle. Essentially carrying out the same thing again.

A more apt question would be: have you ever, ever felt like this?
