That blows. As SS said, it's hard to avoid spoilers when the source material has been out for so long. I told my friends/relatives that haven't read the books to not even go online the day of the episode (or even until they've watched the episode).

Too much out there that's been discussed for far too long - you'll see spoilers all over the place, inadvertent or otherwise unless you're specifically careful.
I wasn't reading a forum post on the series as a whole or anything. I was reading a marked as spoiler-free review of the episode and some arsehole just posted huge book spoilers completely out of the blue. It'll have been deleted by now.

Haha yeah it was terrible. They completely fudged that storyline for an excuse to show us Melisandre's tits, it could have been done so much better. It wasn't even clear what Stannis was doing with the leeches.

That doesn't sound like a TV show with a beaker and test tube at all.

A mixed bag I thought. It had its moments, but also felt a little too loopy at times. It had similar themes to last season's drug-themed episode in which Roger trips out on LSD. There's the element of losing time in both episodes. Both even have flashbacks to Don's childhood. In terms of character development though, Roger's experience and moment of revelation induced by the drugs was far more profound than Don's. I hate to say it, but in the end though it's just another episode where Don is having an existential crisis and his actions leave everyone scratching their heads.

It's Mad Men though, so as always there will be moments of brilliance in every episode. The part with the home invading thief was truly menacing I thought. The moment between Don in the Sylvia was also brilliantly acted by both. And of course, the best part of the episode:

Unfortunately I managed to read the spoilers for the next episode, would've been a huge shock.
