But Staines was great. I loved it there, haha. Infinitely better than Elephant and Castle.

Yes, the sun was out, and so was Ravi - very cheaply, if I recall.

The best of times.

Love Spiral so much. Really great episodes this week.

So perfectly paced, and plots you actually give a **** about.

I wish the BBC and other UK broadcasters would pay attention to stuff like this, and actually produce something decent every now and again.

Probably should give it a go.

Talking of BBC doing something good now and again, I have been watching the repeat of Simon Schama's a History of Britain from about 10 years ago. I can understand why some people find him anoying but it really is so bloody good.

Yeah, to be fair, the BBC do come out with some really good stuff from time to time. I've not seen the Simon Schama thing, but I've heard positive things.

The problem I have, is that the occasional good thing they put out is surrounded by endless period dramas and Jane Austen type things, or awful crime dramas. There is Doctor Who as well I suppose, but I find that is becoming increasingly preachy. Sherlock is good too.

Edit: Oh, and Spooks. Need to stop with that.

Attenborough's Africa program was best stuff on TV all year, and I include the sublime Walking Dead in that.

On previous discussions, Black Books brilliant, Workaholics unwatchable, Spaced, decent but really far too lauded.

Yeah the Atttenborough stuff really is what the BBC do best these days, by a long way as well.

Watched some shrimp fishing show the other day on discovery. Knock offs are so bad, especially when the originals aren't too great themselves either.

Anyone watch Californication, my fave guitarist ever putting in a decent stint.

Love Duchovny in it too, plays the louche character so well, and with a charm that makes it all so believable, despite the pond-life he obviously is. Runcle always makes me laugh too.
