Definitely better than some of the other recent Christmas episodes. Was a bit sappy in places, but I enjoyed it. Thought the script was quite decent given the fact that the writers had to include a "new companion" storyline to go with the main plot.
It was also quite clever how they reconciled the appearance of the new assistant with her appearance earlier on in the show. She wasn't nearly as irritating this time round either. |

I'm not too hopeful that the 4th season will be anywhere as good as the previous ones.

Got all 5 seasons of The Wire on DVD for my birthday. Gonna have a marathon once my exams are over.

Watched the first episode tonight. It did seem to throw a huge number of characters at me straight off the bat, so I admit to checking Wikipedia periodically so as I wasn't mixing up one bald black goateed leather-clad drug dealer from another. Has a lot of promise anyway, it was rather like the first couple of chapters of a book.

Dating in the Dark is an awful show - a terrible concept, and they choose thoroughly objectionable people to be on it. Just an unpleasant viewing experience in general. Tempted to delete all my subtitles and replace them with just one at the start - "Nah, you don't want to waste an hour of your life on this. Change the channel. Trust me."
But there may be repercussions for such a thoughtful gesture. |
