Yeah I was shattered when I got the news. Season 2 was awesome television.

Starz shows are always cancelled. So lame.

Honestly they never gave that show a chance..it was aired at the worst possible time in USA.

And I also blame the critics..they never gave the show the respect and attention it deserves..for me its right up there with Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Boardwalk Empire but those shows would always get more attention because of the big names attached.

I still have those three slightly ahead, but I agree generally. And definitely agree that airing the shows on Friday in the US was dumb as ****.

I have come to the sad conclusion that Homeland’s sophomore season is a failure. The acting continues to be stellar, but the plot has greatly disappointed me. I think what made the first season so outstanding was that, besides the great acting, the key “hook” of the show was what are Brody’s true intentions? Is he a terrorist or not? I think the producers should’ve stuck to their original plan of having him killed off at the end of season one. His story was done, one way or another. By continuing to have him around and not restarting on a brand new case/target, the show is forced to come up with ridiculous storylines that strain credibility in order to justify the plot focus on him. As I mentioned before, Homeland now feels like a 24 sequel.

There’s one episode remaining for this season. I think the only way to salvage the season, in my eyes at least, is for the show to reveal this plot twist championed by Emily Nussbaum of the NYT. I know even that twist will probably be over the top, but I’m willing to buy it as it would be great drama and a fitting resolution to the Carrie/Brody arc.

As long as Saul doesn't die. Really like him.

Finale saved the season for me. Finally no more Carrie/Broady loved up ****. All the inplausible crap can go do one and the fear of the unknown has been brought back. The manhunt for Nazir was nowhere near as interesting as season 1 which had you second guessing absolutely everybody's genuine intention. The finale brought that back, considering Saul was previously the voice of reason and now he's got a huge role in the CIA while a black question mark hangs over his head from our perspective - I mean the cuts to him on the boat in the build up to the explosion? To obvious surely...

I honestly don't think they'll have even decided that yet. That ending gave them lots of options going forward.. hell Brody could've even parked it there himself.

Another fairly underwhelming season of Dexter imo.

I actually would've liked if they left that more ambiguous. I would have more interest in Brody as a character if once again his intentions/loyalties were unclear.

Thank god that Broady and Carrie love thing is over. Finale saved the season though. Thoughts on Saul?

Really? Everyone else I've talked to says it's been a return to form.

It wasn't a true return to form, but it vastly improved from the depths of the past few seasons IMO. It kept me interested enough to keep watching and I'm hopeful for one last season that ends the show on a respectable high.

Yeah good call there. Haven't watched it yet (always fall behind on tv) but will get there.
