Yeah, really enjoyed it, great 100th episode IMO. Loved Alec Baldwin's speech at the end of the episode about being on TV.

West Wing is a gun show imo, the whole Iraq invasion thing left a sour taste in the mouth, however.

I still haven't seen the new episode for Dr Who. I love it, one of the greatest shows ever created. Did you know that it is one of the first sci fi's and that Star Wars, Trek etc originated from Dr Who.

Yeah enjoyed it too.
Baldwin was fantastic throughout the whole show. Also loved Tom Hanks' cameo at the end, discussing the A-list Calling Clooney and saying Pitt was the webmaster, major lol.
It's seriously old, obv, (48 years, damn) but I'd say Star Trek and Star Wars were pretty independent of it. When Star Trek was created DW was still in its infancy as an semi-educational show, and Trek grew out of the classic American sci-fi literature, designed as a sort of exploratory "Space Western" idea. Star Wars on the other hand probably owes more to Flash Gordon and other pulp sci-fi.

Anyway, The Wire is turning out to be an ATG bday gift, couldn't watch today but already done till the sixth episode of the second season in three days(The Gant Trial). Omar - WAFG.

EDIT:-Thanks Fusion
The courtroom scenes with Omar are among my favourite TV scenes ever. Particularly love Levy's double-take here. That whole clip is great.

I love Omar, obvz, but now having seen Boardwalk Empire I'm starting to suspect Michael K Williams doesn't have the broadest range as an actor as he played Chalky White pretty much exactly as he played Omar.

So the second episode of The Game of Thrones was high quality as well and now I'm hooked. I've started reading the first book as well. With around 5000 pages to go before I'm caught up with the entire series, I think I won't be needing any new reading material for a looooong time.

You'll need new material quicker than you think.
