New series of Survivor started in NZ tonight - wasn't all that thrilled by the opening episode which was good but, compared to how great the Heroes vs Villians season was, a bit lacklustre. Not sure how far the guys in the US and Australia have got into the series but I do hope the season heats up a bit.

It's good, but as with most seasons of the show it is taking a while to really get rolling. Once Quinn gets his investigation of Dexter really under way and the pressure mounts it should become top drawer imo.

Anyone seen any of The Event?

Man, it's derivative. I can guess the pitch, "It's Lost meets The X Files meets 24 meets Flash Forward".

It has an aircrash (Lost), aliens the govt covers up (X Files), a black president and the secret servicey shadow ops (24) & a non-lineal narrative (Flash Forward). Even uses the same font for its credits as Lost.

The relentless pace means it's entertaining for all that tho.
    - As featured in The Independent.

"This is not the time for namby-pamby promising youngsters who might just do something; not the time for building for the future. Pragmatism rules and they don't come more pragmatic than Rogers."
    - Victor Marks makes the case for stiff-legged and stiff-armed 35 year old left-handers in Ashes squads

Seriously, so far it has been stupid. Both tribes are retarded, every tribal council you will be shocked. Some good watching, but frustrating.

The color of immortality, nature and envy - you are truly a unique person. While clearly the color of nature, you also symbolize rebirth, fertility and hope in the world. On the other side of the spectrum, a natural aptitude to money with green coming to signify money and possibly even *********!

Just about finished first season of "Entourage"

Not quite sure if I'm sold on it yet. Is the second season a vast improvement?

Looking for something new as I've just finished watching forst 4 seasons of Dexter again, as well as Rome & Deadwood, so I was kinda hoping Entourage would be it.....

The Wire. You won't regret it.

I actually consider The Sopranos to be the greatest TV show ever made. It was perhaps not as consistently good as The Wire, but its peak was unsurpassed IMHO. There may have been other shows before The Sopranos where you openly rooted for a cold-blooded psychopath as the main protagonist, but I bet Tony Soprano made it fashionable to do so. Deadwood, Dexter, The Wire and a host of other shows owe a hearty thanks to The Sopranos for leading the way. Watch it, you won’t regret it.

Yeah as Fusion says, best thing on TV pretty much. Failing that watch Six Feet Under.
