Al Gore wins Nobel Peace Prize

OSLO, Norway - Former Vice President Al Gore and the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize Friday for their efforts to spread awareness of man-made climate change and lay the foundations for counteracting it.

Discuss. My thoughts on this later.

If you cant contribute to a thread in a positive manner, please stay away from this thread. There are enough threads in OT for your kind of nonsensical posts.

scraping the barrel really if the best peace keeper they can come up with is a man who's best peace keeping role was keeping Hillary away from Bill's intern 'meetings'

Hows climate change keeping the peace?

    Dire showing tbh

The Nobel Peace prize is awarded for great contributions to society, it doesn't necessarily have to do with peace. I think Gore deserves it for his work on environmental issues.

I think he's done great work, but I hardly think his presentations around the world without really doing anything real himself isn't peace prize worthy. He's just making the world aware of certain issues but I feel there are people out there doing much more for peace and the world.

Look at all the strife's the worlds been in lately, certainly there's someone out there trying harder than Gore to keep the world a nice place. I almost thought it might go to someone over the Korean crisis.

Absolutely terrible that this fear mongerer can win such an award.

The Nobel Peace Prize is a joke these days.

People do realize that he isn't really holy and pure right? He's just using all this climate change stuff to start his election campaign early. He's always struck me as a slimy oily git TBH. Can't stand him. Right down there with Helen Clark and George Bush.
