No. You can't simply same the "greatest techno group ever." It's like flat out saying The Rolling Stones are the "greatest rock band ever." Oh sure it's your opinion, but since you're asking a question, it can be answered definitively, obviously.
But why aren't they? Simply because, IMO, bands are obviously different (the good ones anyway) so each will have their strong and weak points to give them an advantage or disadvantage over others bands to claim to be the "greatest techno band ever." Kraftwerk was a great/important techno band but not the 'greatest' simply because they were groundbreaking etc. Daft Punk had far more commercial success than Kraftwerk but that doesn't make them the greatest either. To me, all the techno/big beat groups have their own unique styles that make them great, while the lesser ones copy the bigger ones. In answer, no. The greatest techno group is something that is reserved to you. Music is special for the beholder. As in, they're the greatest group to you. Not the greatest group to have ever existed full stop.
