He's ranting about Islam now.

I don't get why the left sides so heavily with Islam on issues like these. All the anti-Jew, anti-Christian stuff... it is actually right there (5:51) in the Koran. Why wouldn't Jews and Christians be scared of a religion that says such things in a book considered deeply holy?

Just seems odd to me. If any of the Muslims on here would like to explain that particular passage (not that it's the only one), I'd be genuinely interested.

Because pretty much all of the holy books have these same passages about killing your enemies. They were written 2000 years ago, they all have passages similar.

There should not be a reason to prevent him from appearing, the decision should have never have been to invite him in the first place. He does not have a right to appear on Question Time. There is no principled reason why he should appear at all - lest we invite muslim extremists or 9/11 truthers on the Question Time panel to get their point of view.

He's an MEP, that is a mandate enough for him being allocated a slot on the show, unfortunate as that may be, he has as much right to be on the panel tonight as much as anyone else, much as I disagree with him.

As you may be aware, I'm not exactly keen on any holy books. The "but Christianity says lots of bad things too" might cut down Griffin's Christian neo-con POV, but it's shirking the actual issue as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah agreed.

Have never been a fan of Jack Straw before, but thought tonight he was right on the money and did a top job, fair play to him. Same can be said for the rest of the panel as well, though I thought Chris Huhne was pretty poor as well.
