I got 54%. Some bizarre questions in there - why have a question about speed limits? That's what the driving theory test is for.

You have failed the practice citizenship test.

Questions answered correctly: 11 out of 24 (46%)

Time taken: 04 minutes 43 seconds
The speed at which a fielding team gets through the innings is overrated.

    Yeah I failed as well.

But if I was actually taking the test for real I could probably make sure I passed. Not that I'm in anyway convinced of the relevance of most of the questions as to whether you deserve to get citizenship.

If I were a more cynical person I'd suggest this practice test has a load of obscure crappy questions to coerce people into buying the 'official' study guides etc which are prominently advertised.

I'm about six questions in and am convinced I'm going to fail.

Who gives a crap what year a married woman gained the right to divorce her husband?

14/24. What a stupid, pointless piece of bollocks.

Disagree. That test basically says that you have a book and a **** load of time and if you want citizenship then at least make an effort to take an hr out of your life and read it. The questions are a bull**** but it is hardly an arduous task. At the end of the day, it really doesnt matter what the questions are. The point is that people invest something, in this case a small amount of time, in return for something. Something earned is always better than something given.

Is it true the Australian one asks you Bradman's batting average, or is that just folklore?

Not relevant to your question but when I did my US exam the questions I worried about were "name the 13 colonies" and being able to name the ammendments to the constitution.

Yup. I really don't see what is proved by mugging up on this sort of thing. Maybe the ability to read English, which I suppose isn't entirely a bad thing.

fwiw you outperformed me: does a score of 46% mean they'll deport me to wherever my ancestors came from about 1500 years ago?

I did one of those once, failed it when I answered 'no' to the 'do you have any criminal convictions' question.

Dont they leave you in the room with the test paper and the citizenship certificate, and whichever one you steal decides if you can stay or not??

Meanwhile, 63%. Disagree with Goughy, if your going to test someone on whether they deserve citizenship, it should be on things that are relevant to be a UK Citizen. Human Rights, employment rules etc. Things a person needs to know to live and work within the rules of the nation. Does it really matter if there is 15 or 16 million under 19's? Does it affect your input into UK life?
