How often should you play pocket cards with both under 10? What about one under 10?

It depends on which cards they are, the actions of the people who acted before you, how many people are still to act and how big the blinds are.

Yes, it could be anywhere from an easy raise to an easy laydown. Poker is situational.

Or do you mean non pair cards under 10, like 9-4offsuit or something? Fold that crap almost 100% of the time, unless you sense weakness and can get folds by going over the top from late position.

I meant like a >10 and a <10, eg Q5. Should you play it or fold it?

The real question I think you need to ask is whether you should be calling, raising or folding as this type of action will dictate the play for these hands

There's no hard and fast answer for that question. Play the situation and the player, not just the cards.

Q5 you should be folding vast majority of the time. Unless you're in late position and you think the blinds aren't defending or something. Or you sense some weakness from someone.

I'd raise Q5 on the button to limpers and maybe even a min raise, but I play the button really aggressively.

Nah, not Q5. Or at least that's not my style most of the time. It depends on the limpers though, and obviously the limit/people you play against. Obviously style comes into play and I wouldn't say you're wrong, and I'm sure you're successful with that. I'm a little more conservative, but then again, I don't play cash games much. Mostly tourneys and sit n' gos.

I would say that you need to be a real good reader to do what you're saying, so my hat goes off to you if you can pull it off and come out ahead.

Am quite wary of limpers at the level I play. People will slow-play pretty much any two cards under the illusion that they're being skilful.
