I'd still call tbh, and probably later regret it mind you.

Call, but knowing that your flush draw is almost never good.
    Or something.

True. Those blinds are well worth a steal though.

Obviously you were bloody unlucky, and it was a decent play, so I don't mean to be too critical. It's just not what I'd have done, and the bad beats come with the territory a little when you let bad hands in for free, so you can't really complain too much.

Just venting. River two-outers always suck.

EDIT: I suppose it was a five-outer technically.

Have been playing loads since I got back to Manchester. Was doing horrendously at first but I've hit a bit of form and took home a good win tonight. Chip position worked for me, normally it doesn't.

It's funny how when you're playing well you know what the right decision is without even having to think but when you're playing badly it requires so much thought.

I had a mad run of form one night, first night I'd played in months. I won just about every hand, but I was being distracted, even making normal decisions like folding rubbish hands, and I would have won (like 27 then a couple of 7s coming up) after I'd folded.

I want to get back into poker more.

Got hurt in Vegas, was looking pretty good, had made it to the final table, which for me meant I was playing out of my skin, I'm usually pretty junk. Sitting about 4th of 9 in chips, feeling happy with myself.

Get dealt AA, guy to my right goes all in. I've got him covered by about double, but go all in to prevent anyone following. Chip leader goes all in, has me doubled.

Guy to my Right has Queens, chip leader has 10's.

    Flop
    Q89

Well, that hurts. But I've still got the chip leader covered.

    Sigh.
Good times. Had a blast at least and walked away knowing I'd played it right.

In a game AWS. Enjoying it so much, can't believe I've barely played since the Ashes.

You eventually learn to realise, you made the right decision, folding 7,2 or something along those lines, because you would only have gotten lucky. You are more likely to not get lucky on all occasions. Just because you would have, doesn't make calling the right decision.

I disagree. Going in with 7-2 is only worth doing so, against a tight player (assuming he's on the BB). Then, if a flop like this comes up : J 7 K- that's a flop risky as hell, compared with bottom pair. There's the straight draw, (possibly a flush draw) and ofcourse the pairs of J or K, two pair, and trips, on top of all of that, a higher pair of 7s. But then what you do afterwards should be only affected by the opponent. If he checks (remember, he's a tight player) then you pair is probably winning.

andmark do you play on Pokerstars or any other similar thing, other than facebook? I'd be keen to get on MSN with you and arrange to get on the same table.

I sometimes play on Pokerstars (not as much as I used to, but I still do). Not today though, I have to go to school.

    Are you serious.

72o on a J7k board is possibly the greatest flop imaginable. You'll learn soon enough to count and factor in all your draws which include two pair, trips and quad draw.
