Penny Lane, just. Maybe I would have voted differently yesterday, and probably would again tomorrow.

Strawberry Fields Forever, everytime, dead set the best song ever, ever, ever, ever, ever...um, ever. Simple as that really. Love love love it.

Could shape up to be their best ever #2 single facing off in the semis (it was a double A-side for those who don't know). In the UK anyway. I think Penny Lane went to #1 in the States, but Strawberry Fields only got b-side status there. Travesty. Mind you, it was put on the MMT album straight away, whereas that didn't become an album in UK until the 70s. Hmm. I'll stop rambling now.

Hate to disapoint you, but Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields Forever are on opposite halves of the draw, so both would have to reach the final to be up against each other.

Actually the quarters aren't proving nearly as tricky as I thought: Penny Lane & Strawberry Fields very comfortably in both cases.

EDIT: Just realised I'm voting for both sides of the greatest single ever.

Something and Hey Jude for me (now if hey jude was against penny lane it'd be different. But Something is my favourite Beatles song, so no contest there)
