    Happy birthday.

That sounded a bit grudging, didn't it? Not my intention.

    Happy birthday!

    That's better.

"The committee discussed the issue of illegal bowling actions, and believed that there are a number of bowlers currently employing suspect actions in international cricket, and that the ICC's reporting and testing procedures are not adequately scrutinising these bowlers."

Hmm, he seemed to be posting pretty early this morning. Maybe looking at getting work out of the way early, for a nice big day on the sauce.

    Happy birthday, mate.

Was only up early as a friend had warned me she had put a birthday call on the local radio station, and after listening to that, decided to get up.

As low-key a birthday as you could get - went and watched some harness racing trials at lunchtime, lost $30 on the pokies on the way home, then tidied my room and did mindless crap around the house. Treated myself to combination fried noodles with extra meat ( - beat you to it, Andy) before our flatmate, who has just moved out, came round to sort out the flat account - we all got a payment of about $260 from it, which is very timely. Probably the best present of the day and it was my own money anyway...

Not much in the way of presents either, although that's to be expected - money from the old man to sit my full license, a Lonely Planet Melbourne from my sisters for impending travels, and mum's just got back in the country, so is going to send down some clothing vouchers.

Think I prefer these kind of birthdays than the ones you have to make a fuss over.

Anyway, thanks for the kind words, even though I don't really care for these threads.

    Proud to be a Colt!

M Hopgood: Followed up his debut century with a half century. Most likely the most impressive begin to a List A career by a Colts batsman in their history. In fantastic form at the moment, and will look to transfer that form into the first class arena. 8/10

The nightclub in Oamaru doesn't even open on a Wednesday.
