21 shot dead execution style in a bus

And it gets eight lines...

Really sickening stuff, I wonder if things will ever improve when religion is held in such high esteem..

Don't really know why religion is blamed for this. I'm religious, and I don't go around killing people. If religion wasn't held in such high esteem, those ****ed up ***** would go find some other excuse for killing people who are different to them.

You obviously don't hold religion in such a high regard as to make it an excuse to kill people over it.. I'm not a member of the "Religion is evil because all wars stem from it in one way or another" group, but it's horrific how innocents can die in the name of an abstract thought..

Key difference to make here is between "religious" and "religious fanatic" - one set are perfectly normal people, and the other lot are nutters.

Precisely. Another key difference to make here is between "spirituality" and "religion". Very often, the latter can be a bunch of communal bull****.

The Yezidi are an interesting people- they worship Satan, who they believe has been forgiven by God and is now in charge of the world- not as an evil-doer, but as a "good angel" the "Malik tewfus" the "Peacock Angel". They've long been oppressed throughout the middle east, particularly in Iraq. I'm not surprised they've been targeted in such a way, being Kurdish and non-sunni/shi'a etc.

Another day, another mass killing in Iraq.

This sadly is so predictable that it bearly mentions much in the news or people just see it in a non fussed way.

Killings in Iraq are just too common nowadays that this doesn't come as a huge shock TBH.
