Melbourne

Further to my announcement on Lord's Lounge that me and several of my mates are heading to Melbourne in November for the Melbourne Cup, I thought it might also be a good time to get overseas and spend a little time working offshore - in Melbourne, as I have friends there.

Anybody on here know what the Melbourne media industry is like in terms of getting work?

You could find some work at Warne's mum's pad...

Don't know much myself about the media industry even though I plan on entering it one day. Melbourne's an awesome place though.

That's what I've heard from my mates so far. It's a big city with no pretentiousness.

I'm a sports reporter, but can turn my hand to most forms of print journalism (have been a police reporter in the past, although didn't like that much). Would do PR as well, and radio journalism etc. Unfortunately, when it comes to TV reporting, I have a face for radio.

LOL, start studying up on AFL then, there's not much other sport for you to report on down there...

Well you could probably get easy time on a 'public broadcast' radio network (PBS, RRR, etc) or a local newspaper even. There's plenty of street press floating around as well. Should be quite a few opportunities for you.

So now we've done Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney... Brisbane the only city not to have 5 minutes under the CW spotlight.
