How do you get mud of a metal thing.

I was playing football yesterday with my brothers, and cdm(cover drive man)stood on a metal thing. I am determined to find out what it is but it had mud on it and it was stuck qiute on it badly.I've tried putting it in coke but the mud didn't come off,now it's in hot water.
If that doesn't work do you have any suggestions?Suggestions would be apprecaited.

Swallow it - the digestive acids will take that mud right off and then once you pass it, its yours to keep.

Thanks for the ideas. And it's big for a coin. Also it's smaller than a goal post.
