    TV Nostalgia Thread

    Pretty specific title, I know.

Well, for starters, I thought of this when I remembered All Together Now, which starred Jon English - whom used to be famous, not sure what for; might have been some old rock band I think - Jane Hall, Rebecca Gibney and Steven Jacobs, whom went onto such great heights as "Candid Camera" and now reading the weather for the Today Show. About some old rocker who discovers he had some twins from an old flame after she carks it.

    Jon English

Another is Kingswood Country, about a racist sexist conservative Australian man who is struggling to comprehend the movement of his country towards multiculturalism. Was watching it a year ago on Fox Classics. Ted Bullpitt's most prized thing in the world was his Holden Kingswood, and pretty much distrusts anyone and everyone - even moreso if you're a "wog", as he so politely puts it every time he tells his daughter's boyfriend to get out of his house.

    More to come.

Speedy Cerviche, Polly Esther and Guido Anchovy. These cats are undoubtedly the finest feline specimens the cartoon world has known. Far superior to those turtley ninja posers, the Samurai Pizza Cats brought the best of martial arts animals to the screen.

    Samurai Pizza Cats...
We hope you liked the show, it's the best that we could do
    Samurai Pizza Cats...
If you could do better, then we'd leave it up to you
Just a reminder, you might like to know
the cats will be back for another big show.
    Hahaha, oh gosh.
    Samurai Pizza Cats...
They're fighting crime, oh yes, all over town.

    Two, four, six, eight.
    Why do we expectorate?
    Samurai Pizza Cats...
Read all the credits, so you'll know who did the work.
    Samurai Pizza Cats.
Sreesanth said, "Next ball he was beaten and I said, 'is this the King Charles Lara? Who is this impostor, moving around nervously? I should have kept my mouth shut for the next ball - mind you, it was a length ball - Lara just pulled it over the church beyond the boundary! He is a true legend."

One of my favourites, The Micallef Program, which also appeared in similar guises, such as:
    • The Micallef Programme
    • The Micallef Pogrom

The last of which is of course the Russian word for massacre. Mainly a sketch show, it was probably the best thing ever made, ITBT. Micallef regularly took the mickey out of guests, both those whom were acting (as seen in the clip below) and those... whom weren't actors.

It's clear when The Colbert Report got its inspiration from.

Avoiding a massive spiel regarding cartoons of the past, I'll just pick something random and say that man, I remember Perfect Strangers. I loved that show when I was a kid.

Have the people behind Working Dog ever topped their work on "The Late Show"? Interesting question, and one that I'm not qualified to answer. However, a highlight for me was the mini-series they ran throughout called "Bargearse". Come look see.

Used to absolutely love it. My sister and I used to watch every episode when we were in the middle east.
