    Werewolf: The Game

    Werewolf: The Game

Werewolf: In folklore and mythology a person who changes into a wolf, either by purposefully using magic or by being placed under a curse

Werewolf is a simple game for a large group of people (seven or more). It requires no equipment besides some bits of paper; you can play it just sitting in a circle. It is a game of accusations, lying, bluffing, second-guessing, assassination, and mob hysteria.

    Game Rules

The players represent a village, and each member of the village has a role which is PM'ed to the player at the start of the game. In the village, there are two werewolves who's goal is to kill enough villagers to achieve 1:1 parity. When the werewolves achieve this, they can openly rise up and overwhelm the villagers thus winning the game.

The game is split into two sections, Day and Night. The game starts at night time.

In the night phase, the werewolves will decide among themselves who to eat using the PM system, and the seer will decide who to view. They PM the Game Master (me) what their choice is, and I then remove the person eaten and tell the Seer the result of his scan.

When day dawns, the villagers wake up to find someone has been eaten by the werewolves and everyone, including the werewolves who have assumed their human form, meet together to decide who is the wolf and therefore should be lynched. When someone has decided who is a wolf (or who they want to lynch), they type in Bold font VOTE PLAYER A. If they decide to change their vote, they type in Bold font UNVOTE PLAYER A - VOTE PLAYER B. All players are required to vote. When the lynching has finished, (the deadline has been reached) everyone (save those who have night actions) goes to sleep and waits for the night to come.

The werewolves win if they achive a 1:1 parity with the villagers, the villagers win if they kill all the wolves.

Players except the wolves CANNOT use Instant Messangers or PMs to co-ordinate actions.

    Roles

Villager: No special abilities. Wins if all werewolves are killed.

Werewolf: Chooses with other wolves who to eat at night.Wins if 1:1 parity is reached with villagers (and seer)

Seer: Chooses one player to scan at night, revealing their role. Wins if all werewolves are killed, counts as a villager towards parity.

    Deadlines

Day/Night phases will take 24 hours, from 17:00 GMT. Night actions can be sent in during the day phase.

Anyone interested? We'll need around 10 players (7 minimum), 9 or 11 is best since it'll end on a day lynching then. The rules are very simple and it's an easy and fun game to play.

If PM's are disabled, then the wolves can communicate and I can recieve orders through email and MSN.
