Don't think we need this to be honest as we want to keep our members but I'll leave it open as long as it doesn't decay into stupidity.

Yeah, but because people aren't leaving all that frequently the thread will inevitably fall from prominence and people won't be bothered to dig it up when they do leave.

TBH, "temporary departures" certainly aren't unheard-of, and IMO it's not the worst idea (and top-of-the-tree by cdm's standards).
