Was it his ankle or his knee that he has ruptured his ligaments in? In all honesty, if I was going to ANU, I would probably sign up and do it. Something like, a hard challenge, it would not seem right to me to see others do it and for me not to take part. I'm pretty much a masochist. Knowing me, I would want to be in the highest division possible.

Yeah, even if you're running the lower divisions like we were, we have to take a whole bunch of stuff with us (warm clothes, food, > 2 litres of water, satellite phone for emergencies, etc.). The guy on the far left was a workhorse, the other three of us were all struggling at different times during the race, so he carried our packs for a bit.
