Yeah, like George I've always thought of "hairdresser's" as principally a girl's hangout.

"The barber" is where guys have their haircuts, "The Barbers" is if it's a multiple-person organisation.

Anyway, I've not been for about 7 years now, home haircutting is so, so much better.

There are still some "barbers" around, but I, and most people I know, go to unisex hairdressers.
