Dhoom for me because it actually had a story line unlike Dhoom 2.

The girls are the only reason I watched Dhoom 2 ... what's the point?

Did anyone watch Swades, a bit old, but felt like bringing it up because it didn't do so well at the box office but it wasn't really meant to be a commercial film in the first place. It was more so sending out a message. Anyways, I really liked the movie.

BTW, Rang-de-Basanti was an excellent movie. That was the last one I've seen.
I don't think Ash's performance was that bad- Shah Rukh was terrible imo...he aint no Dileep Kumar.

Excellent movie indeed. SRK's first genuinely impressive performance in a long, long time.

Yes i seen it, it was quite good tbh. Relatively inexpensive i thought by having majority of the film in a caravan and so forth. Overall a decent movie from SRK.

Meh, Dileep Kumar was overrated from the outset.

Well yea, i agree. But overrated is the function of how you rate someone...overrated doesn't mean crap - if you are Tendulkar and someone bills you as Bradman, then yes, you are overrated. But you are still Tendulkar- and very much one of the cream-de-la-cream of the world.
Dileep Kumar was compared to Ashok Kumar and Raj Kapoor. He certainly was not as good as one of them but still, he was better than most lead actors in hollywood or bollywood.
Shah Rukh, imo, is not that good an actor - not that his acting is bad. He is quite good in some roles but he is too one-dimentional in his style to do varieties of roles. Especially the kind of roles that requires a guy to show a whole range of emotions and sensetivity without comming off as gay. Devdas kinda role, Dileep Kumar was suited for imo.

I don't know who from Bollywood would've done Devdas well from the current era. But Devdas is the kind of role you want a solid actor who at the same time is down to earth and you can relate to. Like Tom Hanks. Bengali movies used to have this guy called Shoumitro Chatterjee who was Tom Hank's daddy in the kind of roles Tom Hanks plays.
From old time bollywood, i'd say i'd have liked to see Raj Kapoor in a role like Devdas.

But on the topic of overrated moviestars, i always found Shammi Kapoor to be overrated from his hero days. Dunno what people saw in him - he was a babyface guy who looked a bit like a young elvis but apart from that, i dunno what he had.
Shashi Kapoor, his younger brother, was massively underrated though.

Well, yeah, Shahrukh no where near as good as people think/say he is. I'll take Abhishek over him these days, tbh. I just think Madhuri would've done a better job as an "eastern wife" so to speak.

Rang de basanti was good! Suprised because when i actually went to watch that movie i thought tha it would be one of those typical revolutionary movies; like the legend of Bhagat singh!

Dhoom 2 was o.k. But it dodnt live up to the hype! They are thinking abt Dhoom 3; SRK with the role of the villain! Any thoughts?

IMO, his acting was o.k, so he might get away with it in dhoom 3! But Hrithik Roshan would be difficult to beat in terms of acting IMO
