Well if anyone could find out how much Wisden paid for it I'd be interested to know.

Looked things up and found this http://www.hinduonnet.com/businessli...2502500100.htm

It quotes a price of what I think is 3 Million for just 8% percent of the then new Wisden Cricinfo. So thats a huge amount for the whole company almost 4 years ago. Imagine the price now.

I think it's actually £300,000 for 8%. India uses a different system of comma separators than what we're used to IIRC, which is why it's written as £3,00,000. Might be wrong, I'm sure someone else can clarify it.

Decided to do Cricinfo and it came up with this message:

Domain Name Appraised: cricinfo.com It has been determined based on search results that this name may be extensively valuable beyond the scope of the LeapFish.com domain analysis tool. It is recommended that you seek the services of a complete domain appraisal company rather than rely on this estimate.

The number it came up with was $32,633,018.00. So just the domain name for Cricinfo could pull in a sizeable fortune.

Which at that time will be the equivalent of 47 euros.
