Two students shot at [at my university]

Law student shot at two students at Drexel University

Just the door. The whole university is talking about it, the names haven't been released but if they're from bio-engineering, I probably know them.

No, I had nothing to do with the gun.

'The university, Daniels continued, was offering support services to any students seeking counseling to deal with the matter.'

Surely only the 2 students affected would be the ones that would potentially need counseling.

Won't lots of students be scared that they're going to be shot?

Counselling regularly gets offered to anyone even remotely upset by it, people might be good friends with them or people also of Indian descent may fear that something similar could happen to them so they get upset. Probably university covering themselves a little too so if someone is permanently affected by it then they can say that support was offered and they did all they could to help people.

I was offered counselling (as were the whole year group) for something at school which I had nothing to do with, Neil might remember what happened if he ever checks this thread. I have a terrible memory.

The whole year below mine at my school got it because a guy killed himself. Two people having a door shot at isn't of the same level surely?

It isn't. Most people here just are shocked, but find it funny that he went insane.

I would take the counselling, most University bend over backwards and extend your essay deadlines for a couple of weeks if you show any sign of distress. I got a one month extension after breaking my wrist in a fight, though time I finished telling the tale it was an emotionally shattering experience as well.

So I talked to one of the guys who were fired at, and here is the in depth story:

The two bio engineering kids were talking with a neibhbor about their plans after graduation. One of the kids said something like after graduation he was thinking about moving to Europe or back to India, as there are more opportunities for bio engineering there, assuming he gets a decent position.

At this, the neighbor freaked out and called them traitors and left. A little later he came back and started banging on the door, which the kids ignored. Then he went and got his gun and shot at the door and outside the door in an effort to get it open.

The kid hid in the back room while this was happening and someone called the police.

If it were me, I'd have the rifle primed and aimed right at the door in case he busted in.
