Don't want to sound overly harsh, but given the fact it's taken at least 2 service packs to make XP work properly, surely there's actually no point having Vista yet unless you want to be a guinea pig.

Also, memory tests have confirmed its a resource hog. And the things it has (like a new interface) can be done with Windows XP as well (via windowblinds and such).

I won't be upgrading for 3-5 years, at least. As long as I can get away with it.

I won't be upgrading until I get a new PC, which won‘t be at least until 2009. Looks pretty nice but I've heard from a couple of people it's not a great leap from XP, aside from the new aesthetics.

I had a chance to get it. They had a laptop on sale here for 450 dollars from toshiba. 512 ram 80 gig memory, but it was the basic version of vista...which is pretty useless. I'm probably going to get a new laptop around my bday with the ultimate version of vista

Can't see the point myself. My XP does what I want it to, why change it?

I reckon Vista looks pretty cool, but I won't be getting it simply because it's still pretty buggy. Thinking about getting it later on though.

No need to get it unless you are a real techno-nerd.

As a beta tester of it, I'm going to wait at least 18 months before buying Vista

Well if you get it, you need to buy new parts for your computer anyway, so yeah I won't be bothering to spend money on it when I need to replace other parts. Although I might get away with it when I brought it in December 2005.

UNIX is a complete annoyance to use. Linux is good though.

Anyway, Vista looks ****house, and apparently has ridiculously huge holes in it's programming. Give it 4 years at least.
The one, the only CW Black
    Code:
    47.3 W Coppinger to Heads
Smacked the ball straight into the groin of Iwuajoku who has fallen over,
miraculously with the ball still caught in his scrotal area! Out!
