Who do you guys think the Democrats will elect as their presidential candidate for the 2008 US election ?


Personally I reckong Hilary will get the nod....Barack's probably too wet behind the ears.

It would be suicide to pick Clinton. I'm not too sure about Obama either. I'm sure he'll be a popular candidate, but it's difficult to see him getting the nomination. Edwards seems the logical choice out of those three, but it could easily be a different southern white male.

That doesn't really matter that much. Dems dont appeal to those voters in any case, and due to the electoral college system Dems don't stand to gain much by trying to court them.

Its basically between Hillary and Edwards 50/50 for the Dems. Dems like Hillary more, but some think she might have electability issues.

Obama doesn't stand a chance. America has more racist/xenophobic feeling now that it has had in the recent past. The right wing media attack surrounding his middle name doesn't help. I'm thinking his campaign will be something like Dean 2004.

Both McCain and Guliani are strong candidates for the Republicans, but both will suffer from Bush and the former Republican Congress's failure in Iraq.

On an unrelated note, I hate losing my most lengthy and thought out posts when my account logs itself out! Is there a way to avoid this problem besides Ctrl-Cing the entire post?

Suicidal picking Clinton. She's too polarising to win. You can't be either loved or hated - you have to be able to carry the waverers. What's more, she will mobilise Republican-leaning voters to get out and vote, like no other Democractic candidate in U.S history.
