mp3 players

my brother is looking into buying an mp3 player, he is looking at all the brands and trying to decide which one to purchase from there. i'm wondering if anyone knows some of the pros/cons of the mp3's on the market, such as creative and zen and apple brand ones. so basically im wanting some help to help my brother help himself to help the mp3 world by helping us all. help please....

I've got a Creative Zen Micro 5GB. It's full so I don't use it anymore.

Yeah get an ipod, and if you're willing to experiment on something new, try a Zune. More features available than in an ipod, but same price.

I don't know if it is out in Europe/Australia yet though .

Get an Ipod if you really really care what other people think of you but don't mind it dying on you after awhile.

Get a Creative Zen Vision M if you want to have a good MP3 player.

Or just get a cheap £30 one from Ebay, will take a lot of punishment those will.

Had my Ipod for 18 months and not a thing has gone wrong with it. Just shows that if you take care of your things they don't break, I think that's the issue here.

My gf took care of hers and after about 10 months it broke, was under warranty still so she sent it back, when the new one came it wouldn't even switch one so she sent that one back as well and now she has one that is working.

I actually got a new one for my birthday just last month with three years warranty, so I've got it made in the shade.

I got my Creative for Christmas, makes the train journey from Stratford to Bangor just fly by and the quality is actually a lot better than i thought it would be when you watch videos on it.

I got my ipod for Christmas in 2005, use it virtually every day and have never had a single problem with it. The most annoying thing that ever occurs with it is songs in albums being in the wrong order, which is to do with the tagging in itunes and not the player itself. Battery lasts as long as I could ever want it to, never had any problems with the songs on it or anything.

Ipods are OK, but I'm sure there's better stuff out there if you can be bothered to look. Ipod headphones are pathetic though, so if you're going to buy one you'll need to factor in the cost of buying a decent set of headphones as well.
