    Saw him a few months ago on Fox News and he was looking past his best-by date. Can't say I'm too shocked he's gone.

    He wasn't much of a President, but you have to consider that he came between Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan for the Republicans. Seen in that light, he's not such a bad guy.

    RIP. He was a decent human being, from what I have read about him. The only President in U.S History who was never elected to the office of VP or President. Nixon appointed him as VP after his first one resigned. Then Ford took over after Nixon resigned. His legacy, sadly, will always be about pardoning Nixon. The American public couldn't forgive him for that and he lost the Presidential election to Carter. Incidentally, not that anyone cares, but he was probably the most athletic U.S President ever. Was a good college player back in the day.
