Today the government successfully moved a gag of a debate in the Senate in order to bring on a vote which it subsequently lost.

Maybe the best exercise in number crunching since Billy Sneddon called a spill for the Lib leadership then voted against himself.

One of the greatest things about Leyonhjelm's maiden speech was the fact that Xenophon was sitting right behind him with the ****tiest of all time on his face throughout the whole thing.

I want to get behind this but apparently David's favourite show is the Bolt Report, and I'm not sure if I'm prepared to love you that much.

I still maintain that the greatest thing about that bloke's maiden speech is that I haven't had to listen to it.

He's one ****ing Senate crossbencher, elected by mistake, with next to no power. He's not the second coming of Jesus who will lead us into a righteous Libertopia (as much as an oxymoron as that is). Come back to me when the LDP can actually achieve something.

    Am I doing it right?

the only reason he's there is because a lot of people (my mum included) mistook the liberal democrats as the liberal party on the senate voting sheet.

i didnt vote for him but it's certainly going to be a welcome voice amongst utter ****s like jacqui lambie and sarah hanson-young (burgey or jono to make a joke about me being sexist within the hour)

the current state of the senate is a blight on the nation

It definitely contributed, no doubt about that, especially since the LDP was in Column A. They actually almost got a spot in 2010 without that though.

    Pretty funny.

I wonder what the Chinese and Koreans thought about Tone expressing admiration for the professionalism of Japanese soldiers in World War Two?
