They are all important for democracy for the simple reason that if you only had one of them you would not have democracy. Any party is acceptable as long as it's aim is not to destroy democracy.

Swing to the Government in a by-election?

Only union hacks, bitter lefties who were proud of Kevin and Julia could spin that

Unspinnable result. Until a few weeks back Glasson was clearly favoured.

Yeah, this is something out of America. That sort of **** doesn't happen in Australia. Maybe Australia's most horrific single crime in god knows how long.

Yeah, it's horrifying, right up there with that utter **** who threw his daughter off the Westgate Bridge a few years back. I mean, Jesus, what goes through your head to cause someone to act like this? It's beyond comprehension.

Cops should take domestic stuff more seriously in general, it's all empty threats until it ain't, have seen it a million times. Reckon this isn't the last we'll be hearing about this.

Police told courts that father could kill Luke Batty and his mother - report | World news | theguardian.com

    So predictable.

The latest revelations came as police admitted Anderson should have been taken into custody in January, but an IT system failure meant officers didn’t realise he was a wanted man.

Anderson had five outstanding warrants when he killed Luke, before being shot dead by police.

Chief Commissioner Ken Lay said Anderson had been questioned by police on January 27 about several assaults, but there was a two-week lag time for such information to appear on the computer system.

“If police [had] gone to that address a day later, those warrants would have been visible,” Mr Lay told reporters on Friday.
LEAP is a mainframe-based system, incidentally. In a world where even servers are ancient, VicPol are using a system which was bought when leather ties were hot, programs written in a language no uni has taught in 20 years. Crazy. And they're not alone...

Yes, yes, ain't broke don't fix it, etc. Well they do fall over, they're slow as **** and you can't do any serious crime analysis on them, can only look things up one thing at a time or run a batch job and they're very limited. Absolute balls.

thats probably true, but if the mother thought it was ok for them to associate, you can't really blame a computer.
