Literally no one except blind Gillard supporters believe she'd have had a better result than Rudd did.

It's amazing to me how many people in this country treat political parties like they're football teams. There are a lot of really ****ing stupid people in Australia.

    Two terrible speeches weren't they?

How good was the bloke photo bombing Abbott's speech. Fmd a new pm and the AFP let that happen on the night he's elected. They must have been out the back having a party pie. Also good to see Tony's daughters in virginal white. Cardinal Pell will be thrilled.

Today the people of Australia will wake up a little bit confused as 2GB and the Tele tell them the economy is great, there's no need to rush to surplus and the level of debt isn't high at all. They'll have it drummed into them by next week though......

The electorate is incredibly volatile these days. Re the alp vote, add another 6-7% by virtue of the Greens preferences which come back to it, virtually automatically. If you want to talk about primary votes, compare the liberal primary vote to the labor one.

Loving the idea of Clive Palmer and Bob Katter in parliament with the other nutbags like Pyne, Joyce and Abbott. And the senate looks a dogs breakfast which is great. Gonna be like herding cats.

Happily I was 2-0 yesterday, having been in Parramatta and Chifley. Labor needs to stop worrying so much about western Sydney. All politics is local. The good local candidates like Husic Owens and Rowland won and the bad ones like Bradbury and Diaz lost. It's ever been thus. The blow-in lib booth workers in Chifley who I saw were the blokes who went after Husic's sister earlier in the week with a Stanley knife. Was having a chat with them yesterday, and interestingly they're from the Hillsong brigade. No doubt the kind of Christianity we can look forward to seeing a lot more of for the next three years.

    Anyway, welcome to the Boganarium.

Oh, and Industry Minister Sophie Mirrabella.

Have a meeting with Clive next week so it will be interesting to hear his take on things - not expecting anything other than insane rambling but should be entertaining at least

Good result for Oz in that at least we have a government with a clear majority this time

As for Rudd's speech, well bizarre doesn't even begin to do it justice

As Simon Crean said, "he's a complicated character"
