Irony being that Matho is known as a pants man around Shepparton, where he grew up/lived for years.

Clearly he was over-compensating and thus is more gay than we thought.

The electorate has flat out rejected Gillard's gender comments last week. And that's even in light of the disgraceful Mal Brough menu and Sattler's idiotic radio interview.

Piers Akerman has joined the 'Tim could well be gay' brigade on ABC.

Careful not to collapse that bandwagon, now.

I have seen some rubbish infrastructure projects in my time (e.g. bridges to nowhere in Japan, that off ramp near Darling Harbour that stops in mid-air, etc) but the Gold Coast Light Rail system has to be right up there

To date, the Queensland Government has committed $464 million to the project, supplementing $365 million committed by the Australian Government and $120 million provided by Gold Coast City Council and, as far as I can see, all they are getting for their money is a ****ty, outdated system that replaces dedicated bus lanes for the most part (and nobody used the buses anyway) with the only real benefit accruing to Griffith Uni students living in Southport (a commute of about 5 ks)

Furthermore, plans to connect the thing to heavy rail stations at Helensvale and Robina have been put on ice so commuters to/from Brisbane or even the outer suburbs of the Coast will have to use a number of different modes of transport to get virtually anywhere - yeah, that'll happen!

This thing is a white elephant years before completion and an example of pork-barreling at its worst

    The whole thing is ridiculous

The chosen route does not cover the Coast's most densely populated and under- served areas

There is no connectivity between different modes of transport

There are no car parking facilities near stations

    It is ridiculously expensive

    The technology is outdated

I used to live on the route and nobody used the buses then so how this thing is going to replace tens of thousands of vehicle trips per day is anyone's guess

Seriously ****ed project conceived by an idiot and supported by governments looking to buy a few votes that didn't give a flying toss about wasting more than a billion of rate/tax payers money

There's one thing you can never doubt year in year out in politics, and that's Piers Akerman's total commitment to being a complete and utter ****wit.
