That doesn't mean I agree with him on a great deal but he at least makes intellectually consistent and honest arguments, as opposed to "election now!" type rubbish.
Indeed. Chris Berg being for gay marriage a great example of this. He actually is libertarian, rather than someone who is simply a social conservative painting themselves as a fighter of freedom.

Benchy I actually enjoy talking politics and policy with you on the whole (and PEWS) even though we disagree a lot. Just wish you'd not always go on the attack. I know Burgey is intentionally a **** on here, but you don't need to counter him. Surely most people here will agree that Laurie Ferguson's actions are downright disgraceful, whether they like Bolt or not.

I was on the record in 2010 saying I was ****ing disgusted with Gillard's dog whistle heading into the election. Obviously its an important issue to me, so I'd like to think I call them out on dog whistling or overt xenophobic acts no matter which side of politics does it. Will be penning something about Ferguson to someone.

Abbott and Bolt are ****s. Happy?

Laurie Ferguson is a dickhead of the highest order. And I say that notwithstanding his old man was a good mate of my grandfather's and helped our club a lot when he was Deputy Premier under Wran. Laurie was at the ceremony when the ground was renamed, in his capacity as local MP.

He's been in parliament forever, and has risen steadily to the rank of backbencher. All Parties have them - he's just nothing, really. Apart from rat-cunning.

Ironically, given the contents of his letter, one thing Laurie does plenty of is assisting immigrant families with getting their relatives to Australia. Given he was the Member for Reid (centred on Granville) for many years, you might be able to guess where most of those immigrant families hailed from.

Anyway, the real laugh out of all this is surely the fact that Murphy reads Andrew Bolt's blog.

The actual issue has actually evolved from "sports betting odds are in my face all the time" to "there has been a genuine amalgamation of sports betting odds and match commentary and analysis."

I myself bet on sports a fair bit and yet I still find that inappropriate. I have the right to bet on the footy or cricket or tennis or hell even the federal election. No one should be able to legislate that away. But I think it is, at the very least, a legitimate discussion point as to whether Tom Waterhouse's role is misleading to kids.

Had to stop at 'Labor likes to accuse others of dog-whistling to racists' as Tony Abbott ironically doing the same jumped to mind. Will have another crack at it later though.

Haven't made it to the point yet I don't think, so can't comment on it.

Edit: Poor form by Ferguson in writing the letter, and a nice effort by Bolt to try and tie the whole hing to 'Gillard's Labor Party'. Like his mate Piss Akerman, he should have each column he writes ended with a footer that states 'Written and spoken by Andrew Bolt for the Liberal Party, Canberra.'
