Typical IPA. Believes in freedom until it doesn't suit them.

Very few people will get that, but that's a good reference

Berg I find is one of the "purer" libertarians who actually comes from libertarian theory, as opposed to Liberal Party talking points with a libertarian bent on some social issues which is what I tend to find from many of the other major IPA talking heads. I'm certainly more likely to listen to him than Tim Wilson or James Paterson, for example.

That doesn't mean I agree with him on a great deal but he at least makes intellectually consistent and honest arguments, as opposed to "election now!" type rubbish.

Paterson should be fit for the Ashes apparently, but may miss the Champions Trophy. Not a great LO bowler anyway IMO.

I should note that IIRC Berg has admitted that he's not a sports fan at all, so perhaps this is just an example of misapplied theory to a situation he doesn't really understand.

The IPA don't understand most real world things mate. They are the post-Reagan version of the ideologically pure socialists at uni in the 70s. Self-styled libertarians are almost universally **** wits who have been gifted what they have from wealthy parents and for the most part wouldn't work in an iron lung. Beneath contempt.

With the English bid I said: Let us be brief. If you give back the Falkland Islands, which belong to us, you will get my vote. They then became sad and left

pews, I feel I have a right to complain about sports betting becoming intertwined so heavily with sports broadcasting because it ****s me. i'd be just as ****ted off with a consistent 3 minute presentation on a toyota motor car or the latest in hair products. sports betting is not relevant to the unfolding of the sporting contest.

i consistently lose in sports betting, and everyone should be free to do the same, via a phone app or the internet would be ****ing lovely in fact. but if i want information about it, I'll go looking.

Yeah but that's a different argument. That's fine. You just find them irritating; you're not arguing that they're morally abhorrent and should be illegal.
