Yes, sad he was voted out on this day all those years ago.
Mind you, the really big anniversary is Tuesday, marking 30 years since the election of the greatest government in Australia's history. Then in 96 the country went back to sleep again.

Peter Reith calling this all a big storm in a teacup last night... you can be sure he wouldn't have resigned through it.
State ALP used to say that Ted didn't have the "stomach for the fight" and maybe they've been proved right. But I quite enjoyed not having to put up with endless press conferences and media management like we've seen from both State ALP and both national parties over the past six years. It's just a pity he didn't use the spare time of not doing press conferences to get much done. |
