Yes it seems both parties are determined to give us an election between two leaders the public so dent want.

Anyway, I'm off today to sort Ed Milliband out by becoming the new Malcolm Tucker for a week or so.

Bit nervous, Last time I was OS for an Adelaide test I watched the first 10 minutes and we were 3 for 1. Last I watched of it. Hopefully be better this time around.

Peter Beattie came to my work last week. Was great to meet the man, just a pity he wasn't wearing his best Akubra and a Driza-bone.

Basically steady on all the metrics, I don't consider +/-1 to be statistically significant at all.

More interesting to me is why there's a consistent divergence in the approval ratings between Nielsen and Newspoll - Nielsen always gives Gillard 10 points or so more approval ratings than Newspoll. It's not like this is the US and you have to apply a LV screen or weight the results by demographics. Only possible explanation I've heard is that the way Nielsen words the question captures the "don't know that Gillard leads the ALP" ie. the "dead****" demographic (hence why it's numbers tend to add up closer to 100%)

The last 15-20 minutes were weird, but it's good to see Q and A trying to get to back what it originally was for its first two years - a reasonable policy discussion forum - rather than ****ing partisan hacks sprouting talking points on the same ****ing issues all the time

Last 15 minutes was an awkward love-fest but it had some hilarious lines.

And yep great policy debate

Gillard deserves scrutiny for her hairstyle at Slater and Gordon
