Nikki Savva, well known Labor supporter, describes Abbott as a sitting duck in the Australian today.

Gone by Christmas. Gone. Gone. Gone.

Gone.

She's a red-letter Newspoll this week

Polls are important as they form the prism through which politics is reported/viewed

And, as we enter the killing season of November, that matters more than ever

Newspoll is getting increasingly ****ed IMO. Take every poll they do with a grain of salt. Should not be this volatile with a +/- of 3 points.

How disgraceful that Penny Wong didn't get on top of the Senate ticket in SA. That was a clear example of why national Labor is ****ed right now. That sort of bull**** is embarrassing. Some no-name hack on top of the ticket is ridiculous.

If Abbott does go before Christmas, Labor are probably close to toast. I have no idea who they'd replace him with, but maybe Hockey would be worth a shot. He's been Australia's Grumpiest Man for three years now, so hopefully it'd cheer him up a bit.

Doubt Turnbull would get the parliamentary party's vote.

I don't know if it makes Labor toast if they change leader, either. Just as Abbott gained authority from seeing off Rudd, Gillard may get something from being in charge as an Opposition Leader was dumped.

They can't go back to Turnbull unless they're prepared to back the Carbon Price which he agrees with, and ditch the opposition to the NBN. I know he's been going around saying the NBN is no good, but you can tell he doesn't believe it.

I don't think Hockey would get in tbh. Fat blokes don't get elected PM as a general rule.

They'll have to go with someone who holds the current policy settings, such as they are, or else there'll be open warfare. Scooter Morrision or Julie Bishop to carry the can.

Turnbull supports an ETS tbf, not a fixed price.
