Don't know where Labor are going to pick up 10+ seats for majority government. It's not going to happen in Queensland.

They'll get Melbourne and Dennison back to offset Windsor and Oakeshott losing, though I wouldn't be certain Windsor will lose, assuming he runs.

They won't lose Greenaway or Lindsay IMO.

There's some low hanging fruit in Qld if Newman keeps going the way he is - Wyatt Roy is a joke, for example.

I'd be interested to see some polling which factors in KAP up in the Redneck State. I suspect he might pick up a couple of seats in the far North

Yeah, the alarming thing for Abbott is the disparity between his approval rating and the party's TPP vote as measured by the polls. It's so much like Labor in late 2006. Labor was actually ahead but Beazley's approval numbers weren't great. He got knocked off in November that year, and Labor's TPP went through the roof and never reversed all the way to the 2007 election.

Obviously the Libs don't have anybody as appealing as Rudd was at that time, but you'd have to think Sloppy would be worth a go. Certainly he's an unobjectionable, benign person. Bringing MT back, which I think the party would be loathe to do in any case, means keeping the Carbon tax and many other backflips which would make the Coalition look like a joke, seeing as though they have been campaigning against it with so much force and for so long.

It'll be interesting to see how they approach the tax free threshold if they do get in. I quite like it being at 18000 myself.
