    Lol, you're sounding like Hockey.

And from an economic stand point, that's not a compliment

Lots of news coming out about commodity prices from a variety of sources and none of it particularly good for the majority of Australian suppliers or the Government

Whilst the weakening Aussie dollar will cushion the blow somewhat (in general, commodities are priced in USD so they'll now be getting more per unit in local terms), it would not surprise if the budget forecast has been blown out of the water within days of its release.as profits for the big players are headed south quickly and this means less tax revenue

Good to see Tone out in a high-vis vest again this week. It was a bit worrying that in amongst his "what's this, what's this?" question-making routine he couldn't recognise cooking oil. Should see his stocks fall with the people this week when the polls come out.

Thoughts? Would be a massive undertaking/nigh on impossible I'd have thought.

Whoever's right or wrong it's good to see Thomson having a proper go at Jackson.

    Truly dire human being IMO.

Couldn't help but laugh at Labor taking the piss (or at least I hope they weren't serious...) after Heffernan's gay slur. Hardly relatable to the Thompson saga, but surely this and the Slipper scandal aren't hugely removed?

Slipper is under police investigation and, in his role as Speaker, is the beacon of our Parliament - the Speaker upholds the standards, and must be beyond reproach. Now, I don't think he should be expelled from Parliament while the investigation takes its course, but yes he should be made to stand aside as Speaker. It's glib to talk about the presumption of innocence in regards the Speaker's role. It's more nuanced than that. As for Thompson, the claims against him are not just allegations, they're findings. And very thorough, detailed findings at that. Granted though, he too should not have to stand aside as a Parliamentarian at this point.

Anyway, I am loving the fact that Labor is being propped up by these two folk, especially Thommo. He is the personification of everything that the ill-informed think about politicians - that they're all grubs and that they are all out to rort the system. And Gillard has to wear him like an albatross for the next 18 months. It's just delicious.

You're not suggesting findings by FWA are sufficient to justify him being sacked from parliament are you? Seriously suggesting that?
