I'm not convinced that the Libs won't also **** things up, but I think there's a fair chance they'll do it a lot slower than Labor are currently managing to. Most people are happy as long as whatever happens doesn't affect them, or won't for a long time.

Lets face it, we have a well-ingrained middle-class sense of entitlement that has been harvested over the past 15-20 years or so, and people are not going to be happy if that looks like it's going to be taken away. I find it amazing that we're happy to stand back and applaud as big companies take stuff out of the ground that can only be taken once and make a fortune out of it, but if it's suggested we actually pay for our own private health earning $80,000+ a year we're up in arms. First world problems.

Labor are on a flogging to nothing, and they're hanging themselves along the way with stupid **** ups. If they could maybe manage to hold things together for longer than 2 days, we might actually get the focus back on more important things. That's highly unlikely though.

I actually quite like the look of that budget to be honest. I don't think the Liberals could have done much better.

Won't save the Gillard government though. I highly doubt they can even challenge the Abbott opposition going in to the next election, which is horrible for the country IMO. He'll be a dire PM, and shouldn't be anywhere near the top job.
