not up to the pressure of the top job. Rudd's gone but it will continue to be a flop until Shorten takes over in 6 months time.

The public want transparency and accountability, two things this 'government' haven't been able to provide.

No, two days ago she said the story that she'd offered it to him and been slapped down by the factions was a fabrication. And so it's proven to be.

As she said when Abbott put that to her in Parliament "Don't believe everything you read in the papers".

Point is the NSW Branch can appoint who it likes to parliament to fill a casual vacancy, just like any Party can.

Be interesting to see how McClelland reacts to this.

Carr, acting on the advice of the PM:

"Prime Minister Gillard had definitely not made any offer about the foreign affairs ministry nor had any one on her behalf," Mr Carr said in a statement.

Mr Carr has since said he is not interested in the Senate spot."

Really though it just goes to show how shot the Labor Party are. Having to recruit from outside their Federal members to fill a vital role. They have no talent.

Yeah, and he said she spoke to him yesterday before lunch. I think the used car salesman from Parramatta Road who is the NSW State Secretary spoke with Carr earlier in the week, because the State Party makes the nomination. He probable had the list in his drawer and Bob's name was at the top for the next gig
