    Bob Carr would actually be a pretty decent Foreign Affairs Minister tbh. All jokes aside, he knows his inions in that area.

    Reports say Stephen Smith blocked it.

    Not really politics but here will do - the amount of absolute outrage and disgust at a couple of jokes on a trashy talkshow (re: Ben Roberts-Smith on the Circle) definitely surprises me. Cheap shot sort of comments but I think the reaction has been way, way OTT.

    Yeah, they (talkshow hosts) made a few distasteful jokes about how he's probably not very smart if he looks so buff (weird logic but hey) and then raised the possibility of him being dull in the sack. It's all they've talked about all day today on 2GB (although I realise you'd be not be a big listener to Jones, Hadley or Smith.. ).

    Now it was pretty tasteless and it's not the sort of thing I find very funny but I certainly don't think it's an absolute disgrace as it's been reported. A lot of the reporting seems to centre around the idea that he deserves a lot of respect which is definitely fair enough but they weren't mocking his achievements or anything like that so I don't see why he should be completely above any sort of jokes just because he's a great man.

    I bet Jones has had an absolute field day with this.

    The Circle is ****house though. If this results it in being canned that'd be awesome.

    Benchy a fan last I heard though.

    Jones actually didn't talk about it much; he had his standard global warming related rants this morning. Smith and his afternoon listeners haven't talked about anything else though; every single caller is just someone ringing up threatening to boycott Ten.

    EDIT: Err, so I've been told.

    Lol.

    I think it's standard 2gb/ 2ue/ 2sm talkback fair that you can never criticise:

    1. The military (even if they water board);
    2. Cops (even if there's a Royal Commission whcih shows a culture of endemic corruption);
    3. The LNP; and
    4. The hosts of the shows (to whom you won't get through if you say you've a contrary viewpoint).

    Always thought you were more of a Chrissie Swan fan. Remember you being upset when they took her off the show.
