- Great negotiator

And every single one of the predictions has been wrong. Gillard was caught out as a liar yet again on 4 corners.

So Fairfax describing Gillard as "rattled" in her press conference was?

Rudd doesn't have breakfast without leaking to Coorey, and you must be talking about a different Michelle Grattan to the one who goes on RN breakfast every morning and pours a bucket of **** on Gillard.

If Rudd wins this ballot I think I'll go apoplectic. Never has Australia been lumped with such an insufferable git as it's Prime Minister. Gillard is a much better choice of PM, despite the fact that I loathe her politics. At least she's somewhat intelligent. Although I do think that it's a tactical blunder for her to call the spill.

I seem to be the only QLDer to feel that way though.

It feels so strange that all this leadership stuff is coming up in the middle of a state election campaign. Bligh must be hating on the federal government so hard at the moment. Newman must be loving it. The Labor brand is being trashed and all he has to do is watch and run his positive campaign.

Really? Why?

She's given him 3-4 days at best to get the numbers. Otherwise he has to go to the backbench and try and pull a Keating and bide his time.

Surely this is better than allowing him to gather numbers over time without having another public defeat beforehand?

I'm with you. It doesn't sit right with me having a nasty person as the leader of Australia. I don't know them personally, but I like to think most of the PMs have broadly speaking been decent enough folk - from Gillard through to Howard, Keating, Hawke, Fraser etc. Ruthless yes, and I'm sure they all had their bad moments but, on balance, they treated people decently. Rudd on the other hand...
