apart from just about everything else, i just can't understand why after a year of getting killed in the polls because of the clubs campaign, literally a day after Wilkie and co belatedly start their own campaign labor don't wait a couple of months to see how it goes. it's like they're trying their best to be hated

Really?

The chances of any government supporting his extreme, albeit well-intentioned, stance on pokies was always negligible

Guy was either totally naive or simply hated the Libs

Either way, Libs really should be in power

I really hope so mate, but every state election I've voted in has gone to the bad guys. It wasn't so bad when the Beatster was running the show as he was at least somewhat likeable. Bligh though is a scummy villainous woman who is only not hated by a few because she happened to "luck out" and be the premier in a state of emergency.

I hope she loses her seat, and then slips over in the mud on her way out of office.

It's curtains, Stephen. When a long-serving, on-the-nose administration is running for re-election, the opposition just needs a figure head who presents as a safe pair of hands; somebody who doesn't frighten the horses. Rightly or wrongly, the public thinks Newman ticks those boxes. (I think he's a bit of a dictator myself).

That was a class act by her in that situation. Was only a matter of time before something like this happened. It's been building since September 2010. The joint's unhinged. I'm just surprised it wasn't some anti-carbon tax idiot who did it.
