That list must be getting pretty long.

Haha yeah I noticed that as well. The "you have a point Paul" look is hilarious.

Anyway, I don't think I've met a Labor supporter as dyed in the wool as you are Burgey, except my dad.

I don't particularly think that Abbott will make a great Prime Minister, but I do think that Gillard must go.

The fact of the matter is that in its present form the carbon tax will not destroy society as we know it, but nor will it help it. I think that if the Liberals are smart they will be playing that clip of Julia Gillard saying "of course [the carbon tax] will go up" and then laughing maniacally from Monday night's Q and A over and over again in the leadup to the next election.

I think Gillard should fire her Chief of Staff or whoever it is who writes her political strategy etc. because whoever it is is doing a terrible, terrible job. All the signs are - and this matches with the Gillard before about 2008 - she does very well when she's locked up in a room with people without it being scripted or anything (tonight's forum was a reasonable demonstration of it, when explaining some of the more complex elements of the tax, as well as everyone saying she's an excellent negotiator), but away from that...

I wouldn't take too much notice of those votes from the Sky News Forums, and the audience being persuaded by her. Most people are just impressed that they've met somebody famous - they're star struck.

You need to do what the Victorians did when they lost a couple state of origin matches, change the rules!

WTF TAbbott? How the hell do you go into a community forum trying to argue against the carbon tax and see support for it go up?

I watched it too, and I can sort of see how it happened (he dithered a fair bit about the whole "coal mining shut down" thing). He's supposed to be good at these.

To be fair to him opposition did go up by twice the amount, but given that the PM did the same thing yesterday and the shift towards her stance was one-way, and that arguing against a tax is the easiest task in the political world, that's bizarre.
