Sorry, I shouldn't be posting in this thread because I 'haven't been around for 40 something years, in that time running a business yadda yadda yadda'.

Just a fine little example of Burgey respecting someone else's right to comment on politics:

The white whale being a reference to his avatar tbf. I've not met him.

I'm no saint mate, but I'm quite happy to discuss/ debate issues. The very moment someone disagrees with you and your capacious ego, or indeed calls you on something, they get abuse. You've raised one substantive argument this arvo, namely "millions" were "wasted" on the BER, a project worth tens of billions of dollars.

Anyway, the real issue here is the Swans are going ****house and won't get within 100 of Collingwood on Saturday night. The really apalling waste in this country is the Swans' in front of goal.

I think someone put it best in Crikey this morning, that the Government really needs to shut up.

Get the head down, and lock some things in place.

And for goodness sake they need to stop making premature announcements.

They move on from one thing to the other too quickly it seems. And they react all the time instead of setting the narrative. It plays into Abbott's hands, and he's playing it well.

I don't think you will win big plaudits just for avoiding a recession by borrowing lots of money, but should rather be getting them for how well designed the package was. I.e. as it currently sits, it should phase out over this year while an expected boom in mining investment is going to see a big boost in private sector spending. This should lead to job creation to replace those that will be lost when the stimulus programs halt all the while bringing the budget back to 'surplus.' That takes good management and to keep unemployment low during the process and was key to preventing some of the uncosted results of a recession.

Very true unfortunately.

Whose idea was it to invite Fuzzy onto the show? The woman speaks in thought bubbles. And that Kogan guy was clearly a computer hacker who put his name on the panel, despite knowing nothing about anything else other than conspiracy theories from watching Zeitgeist. All the Twitter comments about Josh Thomas reflected everything Lindsay Tanner said about people's obsession with celebrity over substance.

Leaving out the 5 minutes or so in total James Paterson spent talking, I'm going to say it was the biggest waste of 55 minutes I've had in quite some time.

I reckon the should've called the show 'No R's Ark'.

Was good viewing...the bogan from western Sydney provided some entertainment too. Did she set a world record for how many ****s she could fit into one monologue?

I didn't watch it fearing it would turn out something like this... easily the low points of the show when it does this IMO.
