Never mind we're in the best position (geologically) to store nuclear waste and, ah to hell with it, there's a bunch of reasons why we should be nuclear but won't be for the foreseeable future but for the small-minded, risk-averse electorate we have to work with. Australia should be processing far more of their natural resources

In other news, do you guys realise that some mining companies are receiving permission to bring in foreign labour when approvals are granted for new mines?

This is not skilled labour either, just your garden variety Chinese/Indian that needs a job

Like me saying I'll challenge Gillard, though I don't have a seat, but she can keep being PM til I get one.

Granted, it would be a much better idea for someone in a safe seat to resign and Campbell to get in to Parliament in the next few months, challenge for the leadership (and win) and then fight the next election as leader.

But, as untidy as this is, I think it will work.

Even post-floods, LNP was leading 55/45.

Newman will only improve on that.

People are aching for a credible alternative. He's a recognisable face, and a credible leader.
